Two hundred
and fifty guests gathered on the East Lawn at Devon House for
the staging of the property’s premier fund-raising event
dubbed “Heritage Feast” held on Thursday October 2,
2003 as a show of their support for on-going efforts to develop
Devon House as a prime heritage tourism attraction.
The black
tie affair brought together the best of Jamaican cuisine, music,
and art unveiling the first of several spectacular events of its
kind to be staged at the one hundred and twenty two-year-old property.
Devon House “Heritage Feast” was hosted in recognition
of the need to enhance the image of the property as a national
monument, and to contribute to heritage development and preservation
in Jamaica. The underlying theme for the event brought into focus
the role that Devon House is playing to boost heritage tourism
in Kingston.
